Al Resala Bilingual School (RBS) is a Private School. We provide a Bilingual Education in Arabic and English that meets the highest cultural and international standards. We serve boys and girls starting from Kindergarten to grade five for the year 2009-2010. The school will grow gradually till grade twelve. To meet our goals, we are hiring professionals with high educational and personal qualities, with minimum qualifications of B.A. degree and teaching certification. Overseas Hires Package
- Counter Tickets The school provides an economy Excursion Air Fare to and from point of origin for all overseas staff. The financial department will determine fairs with local travel agencies. You will be required to book, pay for, confirm, and email us your e-ticket complete with all flight details to Kuwait within ten (10) days of scanning and emailing us your employment contract. We will reimburse you for your air-ticket upon presentation of your credit card or other vouchers within 48 hours of arrival into Kuwait, in cash payment.
If a faculty member wishes to have money in lien of their tickets they must accept the price quoted to the school after discount not before it. The option of cash in lien of ticket does not apply to leaving faculty.
* No refunds will be provided for a faculty member who misses a flight, for any reason.
- Baggage Allowance A baggage allowance of 50 KD is provided to the overseas employee at the start and at the end of the service with the school. Expenses are reimbursed to cover the cost of an agreed amount of accompanied baggage.
- New Overseas Hires Bus Arrangements The school provides bus services for new overseas hires up to completion of residency formalities. At that time, buses are scheduled to provide transportation service at stated times each day. It is the responsibility of the new overseas to be on time for such times.
- Accommodation A double bedroom apartment is designated to be shared by two staff members with paid utilities except for the telephone bills. It is the responsibility of each teacher with regard to the followings: • To keep all the contents of the apartments in a good condition. • To replace any broken items. • Staff members must care for the apartment’s keys. Should you loose your keys, the school administration and the building manager should be contacted immediately. It is advisable to have the lock changed for security reasons. • Overseas Housing-Non Teaching Spouses An overseas hired at RBS whose spouse works in Kuwait but not at the school, must share the rent with the school if they choose to live in the school’s hired apartment. This policy includes summer rent if the contract is ongoing. If the overseas teacher would like to rent an apartment which is more appropriate to the needs of his/her family, then a housing allowance of (150 KD) will be remunerated.
- Overseas Contracts Duration The standard contract length is two years. Applicants who wish to sign for only one year will be responsible for payment of all residency fees (Residency fees = Kuwait work visa fees) , even if they sign up for a subsequent year of teaching.
- Health Insurance Health insurance coverage as per Kuwait's Ministry of Health is to be issued for all RBS staff members. Its validity is correlated to the validity of the Kuwaiti residency.
- Routine procedures to obtain residency and work permit RBS Personal Affairs Department requires 4 months for residency transfers or starting new residencies. You must complete 60 days of successful employment before we begin the residency process. If your residency or visa expires within 4 months (120 days) of the first day of work, or less, we will not be held responsible for any resulting fines for overstaying the period of your residency or visa. Upon readiness of your residency, you will be illegible to apply or interchange your driving license.
- Overseas Staff Resignation Resigning staff must clear all loans, bills with the school accountant before leaving.
• The financial dept. will check the apartment contents thoroughly prior the overseas employee departure. Breakage must be replaced or paid for. • All apartment appliances (fridge, T.V., stove, washing machine …etc) must be in good working order and clean, and the apartment should be in a neat, tidy condition. • The school will hold an amount of KD200 until all bills have been cleared. Then, the school will forward it to the faculty member.
- Dress Code • Female Staff The female staff should wear a decent, formal /smart casual dress. Dress should not be transparent or tight and covers the hips. Jeans of any color are not allowed .Shoes should be appropriate, beach sandals or slippers are not allowed. • Male Staff Men should dress in smart shirts, long or short sleeves. Jeans of any color are not allowed. Shoes should be appropriate, beach sandals or slippers are not allowed.
• P.E. Teachers Should wear half or long sleeved T-shirt and long loose trousers. Track suits are acceptable.
- Personal / sick leaves • Up to 2 days leave for attending a recruiting fair for non returning faculty upon approval of the administration.
Sick leave provision: *6-days full pay *6-days 50% of full pay *6-days 25% of full pay
- Indemnity End of service award as per Kuwait's Labor Law to be disbursed in June with summer salary (1/2 month's salary for the first 5 years and one month's salary for 6 years and above).
